Systems Integration

Connecting 800+ customer systems through one integration platform

THE CHALLENGE

A multinational IT services company wanted to expand what it could offer its clients. Its processes with customers ran through several disconnected tools, and many customers used multiple systems that needed to share data. Building a new integration capability in-house would have been slow and expensive. The company needed a centralized, secure infrastructure, supported around the clock, that it could offer to its own clients.

WHAT WE DID

Built a shared picture of the business

Assessed the current tools and integration needs across the company and its client base, identifying the gaps that were limiting growth

Defined the target integration architecture, able to connect any system, file format or connectivity method through one central platform

Built the business case and partnership model for a white-labelled platform, so the company could offer integration services under its own brand without building them from scratch

Set the data integrity requirements, including conversion mapping, validation and reconciliation, to reduce rework and disputes

Built a business case for each option, covering investment, payback, risk and impact on people

Defined the support model and service levels for 24/7 operation, with status tracking and collaboration tools for the company and its clients

Oversaw the rollout of client connections in phases, coordinating the company's teams, its clients and the technology provider

RESULT

More than 800 customer systems and 50,000 users connected

Higher profit margin, with a fraction of the previous manual work

Less rework and fewer disputes

Able to take on more complex client requirements and expand its business
